Sunny Jacobs

"When I went in [to jail] I was a mother of two young children, a daughter and a wife...and I was in my twenties. When I came out I was a widow, and an orphan, and a grandmother. Who can compensate you for that? "

"Well the answer is that only you can compensate yourself. Really. And in a way maybe that's the answer in all cases. Only you can compensate yourself. So that's what I have chosen to do."

Below are photos of Sunny, Jessie, and Sunny's daughter Tina, throughout the course of her incarceration.
